These candles represents our platonic ideal of a candle with regard to both form and function. They're wide with a robust wick and cast a golden light. The 4.5 inch is the stout entry to this series, preferred by scribes and dwarves of the mountain with a 100-120 hour burn time. The 6.5 inch is not only one of our most beautiful candles, it has enough bee-produced energy to last an entire season with a burn time of 160-180 hours. The 8.5 inch is a tall marvel and when coupled with the other pillars makes a gorgeous triple-tiered formation we like to call “The Three Towers”. We feel so strongly about this arrangement - the perfect centerpiece for your table or hearth hearth - that we offer a discount of 12% when you purchase the full Halcyon set.

WHY BUY/BURN BEESWAX?
Beeswax burns longer than other waxes. It cleans and purifies the air and leaves a pleasant scent. It has a beautiful glow with a kind of halo around the flame. By buying beeswax candles you are supporting the welfare of bees, a critical pollinator for the human food supply.
IS SOY LESS HEALTHY TO BURN?
The jury is still out on this one. Soy burns faster and gives off a bit more soot than beeswax. The essential oils we use in our scented soy candles should be safer to burn than the synthetic fragrances used in many commercial scented candles.
The ancient god Mithras was of Persian/Zoroastrian origin, a protector of truth and a god of illumination who was later incorporated into a mystery cult in ancient Rome. It is thought that beeswax candles first made an appearance in the west during Roman Mithraic mystery rituals. His symbol frequently involves a lion, sometimes with a bee in its mouth, which we have adopted.
